Irregular Thoughts
Where regular thoughts are tried and found wanting
I am a writer, a speaker and a retired adviser. During my past career, I worked mainly with lawyers and regulators. I also wrote for newspapers and professional journals. Now I write here.
Specific issues I have already addressed on these pages include:
How proportional representation would ensure that promises will be broken.
Freedom of speech is a fundamental right, but not for everyone.
Artificial Intelligence doesn’t think. It’s not intelligent. And it isn’t artificial.
He didn’t say that … or that … or that … or that … or that … And they didn’t say that.
I also have a book called I learned to write. As you might guess from the title, it’s a story about learning to write: from my time as a 25-year-old business consultant to a 35-year-old writing in the Financial Times to a 55-year-old teaching writing skills in business school.
This blog used to be located on my professional website, where you can find out more about my past career.
